The rocky ground made it hard to drive in the thin metal post, but putting it up was essential. With no trees or poles in his yard, there was nowhere for Frank to put his “No Trespassing” sign.
But putting up the sign was hard work. Moments after Frank finished, a massive pain overtook his body.
Fortunately, his neighbor called an ambulance.
The arriving ambulance’s driver spoke from afar: “It is our policy to obey.”
And Frank was in no condition to countermand his sign.
Frank died that day, satisfied. The driver was satisfied that the rules were followed too.
