“Thanks very much,” Zelda said to the tailor. “You’re as handy as a shirt on a pocket.”
In through the shop doors came three large women. Zelda had experienced the Grammar Police, but this was the feared Cliche Clique, and they didn’t like the way she was messing up popular phrases.
But she couldn’t help herself.
The largest woman barked: “Don’t say a word or phrase. We’ll beat you to the bone.”
Zelda ducked, ran and hid in a restaurant. She had escaped.
Moments later, the Clique caught up with her.
“Of course,” Zelda sighed. “This is par for the corset.”
